How to Choose a Suitable Transformer

Low voltage lighting systems require the use of a transformer to reduce the standard 120 volt power from ordinary household electricity to 12,13,14,and 15 volt needed to power low voltage fixtures.

The total wattage of all fixtures connected to one transformer must not exceed the wattage capacity of the transformer.

To determine the size of transformer needed in a low voltage lighting system, add up the wattage of all fixtures in system and then add 10% for low voltage cable and fixtures connections.

If the total load offixtures is too greateither divide the total load between 2 transformers or use a more powerful transformer.

Select a transformer with 20% higher capacity than total wattage of all fixtures in system, that allow you to add more fixtures later.

MLR-DO1 Spot Down Light

Quality piece, thought this was much smaller, was going to use to pinpoint the light on our bird bath fountain, was going to return, but it was such a quality piece for a great price, used it to uplight one of our trees in the backyard. Will definitley look at upgrading other LED landscaping lights to these when they go out.

Good quality, good price. I bought these to add to my outdoor lighting and replace my broken lights. The lights are bright and easy to install. I would highly recommend them.

Low voltage downlight

This is a solid well made low voltage light fixture. The fixture does have a little weight to it. The fixture provides some nice focused lighting which can be adjusted to accommodate lighting angles or direction. The mounting bracket is sturdy. I mounted this on a post within or service yard where some pool equipment is to provide light in that area. It has been in operations for several months now. Time will tell how well the finish holds up tot the outdoor elements and I will update this review as and if needed. The price point is about on par for lights of this quality and use case, I would recommend this product.
